President

Laura Elsik has been a member since Fall 2005.  She grew up in Tomball, Texas just north of Houston.  She is majoring in Communications with a minor in Professional Writing.  One of her most amazing experiences was study abroad in Italy Summer 2005.  She previously held the office of Director of Publications and currently is enjoying being the President of PRSSA.  She hopes that everyone enjoys their time as a member of PRSSA.

Vice President

Katie Saalfeld has been a member of PRSSA since her sophomore year. She
currently working on getting her Bachelors degree in Communication with a
minor in Recreation Parks and Tourism Sciences. She is currently working
for the Brazos Valley Bombers on the promotions team. This organization is
part of the Texas Collegiate League which is a wooden bat baseball league
for college players over the summer. Katie loves to be active either by
playing a sport or working out. She loves to do crafty projects as well
as bake. Hanging out with family and friends is another top priority in
her life. There are so many things Katie wants to do in life, but she hopes
to one day work for the PGA tour.

Director of Finances

Stephanie Kirby is serving PRSSA as the Director of Finance. She is in charge of all financial dealings within the organization. Stephanie is a Communication major with a minor in Psychology and she will be graduating in May of 2008. She was born and raised in Houston where she hopes to return to after graduation. She hopes to work in agency public relations. Stephanie has just recently been published in a local Conroe publication and she does some freelance public relations for some small local businesses in Houston and Katy.

Secretary

Amy Sckittone has been a member of PRSSA since Fall 2006. She is in charge of maintaining attendance and chapter records. Amy is a sophomore Speech Communication major and Journalism minor and plans to graduate in May 2009. Amy is also a mentor for ASPIRE. Amy was born and raised on Galveston Island. She hopes to pursue a career in Public Relations with an emphasis in writing and editing. One of Amy's interests is International Affairs and she loves to travel. So far she has been to Greece, Turkey, and London. In her spare time, Amy loves to read, shop, and travel.

Director of Publications

Amy Doty has been a member of PRSSA since Fall 2005.  Amy is a candidate for graduation in May 2007 with a major in Communications and a minor in Business Administration.  After growing up in Richardson, a suburb of Dallas, she plans on pursuing a career in Public Relations in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.  At Texas A&M she also participates in Delta Zeta, Lambda Pi Eta, Student Communication Association, and HOSTS.  During the summer of 2006 she held an internship at a non-profit organization in Dallas at Arts District Friends.  When Amy is relaxing you can find her hanging out with her friends, by the pool, singing in her car, reading a book, or shopping.

Public Relations Liaison

Brittany Philmon currently serves as publicity co-chair for 2006-2007 and plans the two field trips for both the Fall and Spring semesters. Brittany is a communication major with a business minor.  Brittany will be graduating in May 2007 and will pursue a career in Community Relations and also agency public relations in Houston or Dallas. Within the next five years, Brittany plans to complete a masters degree in Marketing or an MBA. She currently works in the Operations and Training office of the Corps of Cadets. 

 

External Public Relations Co-Chairs

Meredith Corte currently serves as Co-Chair External PR Coordinator and is in charge of organizing fundraisers for the semester.  Meredith is a junior Agricultural Leadership and Development major with an emphasis in Public Relations and a minor in Communications.  Meredith will be graduating in December 2007 and plans to pursue an occupation with Public Relations in Houston or Dallas.  When Meredith is not working on school work or PRSSA activities, you can find her listening to music, working out, or just enjoying time with her friends.  A current goal for Meredith, besides making a good GPR, is finding an internship for the up coming summer.

Hayley Ringo currently serves as Co-Chair External PR Coordinator and is in charge of organizing fundraisers for the semester. Hayley is a sophomore speech-communications major and plans to graduate in May 2009. After graduations, she plans to move to California and work for a corporate or agency PR firm. She currently works as a communications intern for the Zachry Department of Civil Engineering.
